At
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we encourage our youth to grow in their spiritual walk with Christ by building
positive and meaningful relationships, studying God’s word and reaching out to those in need through outreach and mission
work.
Each week we offer our youth different activities that enable
them to learn God’s word and apply it as well. Our programs include, Bible
study, outreach opportunities, youth dinners prepared by Rev. Ike and Shauna Nicholson, Issues Sunday and each month we offer Funday Sunday where we enjoy a day of fun and fellowship in God’s name.
Chi-Rho
and CYF are very active in the life of the Church. There are many opportunities
for our youth to serve. Both groups are able to participate in specific areas
of our worship service, and many members of our youth work with the Chancel Choir, the audiovisual department, and our Children’s
programs.
We have many opportunities to participate
in retreats, ski trips, camps and mission trips throughout the year. We are able
to experience youth-led Worship, mission work, and fellowship with other Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) youth and
their leaders. These events strengthen our relationships with Christ and each
other. We always return excited and energized ready to share our experiences!
