The Chancel Choir is the main vocal ensemble of First Christian Church (DoC) and consists of High School
through Adult singers. The group is open to any person, without audition, who
is interested in praising God through the gift of music. Rehearsals are every
Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, except holidays, mid-August through May. The
Chancel Choir sings for the weekly 10:45 a.m. Sunday service, for special seasonal services of the church, and participates
in the combined choir for periodic Ashland community services. During the Advent
season the Chancel Choir presents a Christmas cantata and through the year presents sacred music from a wide genre of styles
and periods. Come join us for great fellowship and the joy of singing God’s
praises together!
The Chancel Ringers is the adult handbell and chime ensemble of First Christian Church (DoC). This group rehearses each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the choir room preceding the church’s Sunday
Night Live supper and program. The group plays periodically in the Sunday 10:45
a.m. service and for special seasonal services. Repertoire is chosen from
a variety of musical styles, utilizing the most current handbell and chime publications available. Come join us as we “ring and chime” to the glory of God!
Youth Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble

This group of enthusiastic junior and senior high young adults constitutes the youth portion of our church’s
music ministry. They periodically prepare music for youth led services and our
traditional Youth Sunday. Praise and worship songs are prepared from music used
in our regional church’s youth programming and accompanied by an ensemble of youth guitarists.
Saint Andrew's Kids Music |
Each Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.,
our children are involved in an arts based program we call Saint Andrew's Kids (SAKS).
An integral part of this program is our children’s vocal and chime-bell choirs. The Joyful Noise Choir is for
kids in the 2nd through 5th grade and combines singing with the ringing of choir chimes. The Carol Choir is for kids age 4 through the 1st grade and combines singing with the play of
the melody bells. The Saint Andrew's Kids sing and play periodically in the 10:45
a.m. service and present a children’s Christmas musical each December.
